welcome to Ireland’s first sexology site!

Emily Power Smith, sexologist, IrelandIf you have found me you may have some questions related to your sexuality, sexual orientation, gender identification, sexual performance, sexual desire, or sexual preferences, tastes and behaviours. You may be worried about a loved one or by the things you have seen or experienced. Whatever your reason for finding me, I hope you will stay for a while, have a look around and get in touch with any question, no matter how small, or big. And remember there is no such thing as a stupid question.

This site lists the type of work I do and the services I provide as a clinical sexologist and art psychotherapist. It addresses sexual health in its broadest sense and approaches it holistically, looking at lifestyle, relationships, physical health, emotional wellbeing, self-esteem, sexual history, as well as the daily struggles that can impact sexual health such as stress, anxiety, depression, loss, financial worries, aging, menopause, illness, medications, surgery, rearing children and caring for loved ones.

Human sexuality is a vast and vital topic. It is our human need and right to express and enjoy our sexual wellbeing free of coercion, guilt, blame or shame. As stated by the World Association of Sexual Health (WAS) sexual pleasure is a human right and is the foundation of all my work. So please use this site for your information and feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions.
